Public Health Service Section 340B
The 340B Drug Discount Program
The 340B Drug Pricing Program provides eligible health care providers, such as Fairfax Medical Facilities, Inc., access to outpatient drugs at reduced prices. The 340B drug discount program is a government program that requires manufacturers of medications to provide more affordable and easily accessible outpatient drugs to eligible healthcare organizations. These services are a benefit to our patients only and are, unfortunately, not available to community members outside our organization.
By purchasing medications at a lower cost, Fairfax Medical Facilities, Inc. can pass the savings along to our patients through reduced drug prices, and/or use the additional savings to support our mission to expand access and improve health outcomes for our patients. Not all medications are eligible through the 340B program.
Who Qualifies?
There are three criteria that a patient must meet in order to receive 340B-priced drugs:
- The patient must have an established relationship with our health center.
- The patient must have received clinical services from a provider of our health center.
- The patient must receive a qualified health care service consistent with the health center grant award to receive 340B-priced drugs such as dental, behavioral health, or medical services.
